Lance Bass Announces Solo Album
In a blink and you missed it moment on Twitter last night, @DirtyPop108 announced that Lance Bass is going to be recording solo album.
Lance has been very vocal on this topic, stating in 2003 and 2005 that he “will never do a solo project” since his bass voice might not lend itself to singing by himself. That doesn’t mean we’ve never heard Lance sing solo before – he stood out in the songs “Everything I Own” and “The Only Gift” and there are multiple YouTube videos where he shows off his pipes with songs from Hairspray or country music – so it wouldn’t be unheard of for the musical bug to bit him 7 years later (that’s why they say “never say never”).
According to sources close to Lance, he’s scheduled to begin recording at the end of the year – somehow fitting it in to his already busy schedule of “Famous Yard Sale,” the upcoming “gay screwball comedy” “Such Good People,” his daily radio show on Sirius XM, and shopping a few other projects. He always said that he’d like to look into a rock sound, but is also exploring a dubstep sound to make it a true club album. A tour would probably accompany the project.
The fans are calling for a country album though, with an overwhelming majority of tweets saying he’d kill the country music scene. Others tweeted last night that they could hear him doing a Christmas album easily.
We’ll keep you updated as we hear more information!
