July 24, 2001.

If you’re a die-hard fan, you know what that date represents. For those that need a primer (or heck, just for nostalgia’s sake), let’s take a look back and reminisce, for a moment, shall we?

Celebrity is the third and final studio album by the pop boy band *NSYNC, originally released on July 24, 2001. Celebrity achieved five times platinum status in the U.S. and became the group’s third album to sell over 10 million copies worldwide. This album also holds the record for second best first week sales in SoundScan history, only behind their own previous album, No Strings Attached. The album sold almost 1.9 million units in its first week.

The RIAA certified Celebrity Gold, Platinum and 5x Platinum on August 22, 2001, denoting five million shipments in the United States. [details courtesy wikipedia]

Celebrity holds so many memories for fans, more poignant because it was the last *NSYNC album. It would be our last time hearing the voices or seeing  the moves on the PopOdyssey (biggest. pop. tour. ever) or Celebrity tours. Nine years later, it still means so much to pop in a CD or turn on the mp3 player and hear  the unmistakable sounds of “Gone” or “Pop” or “The Game is Over” or “Do Your Thing”. It still brings a *squee* to occasionally hear “Girlfriend” on the radio and even though you own the song (several copies, in fact) you sit and listen to it anyway. You strain your ear in the aisle at the grocery store and the pharmacy and listen. And grin. And if you’re me, dance. I can’t help it…. that music gets me high, and takes me on a ride!

We have prepared a tribute to the Celebrity album which features some of our favorite snapshots from the Celeb!Sync era and your memories,  set to the music we’ve come to cherish as more than just an album by a talented group, but a piece of history and a part of our lives. Please enjoy!

This just in from our Joey affiliate, Joey-Fatone.com:

Former ‘N Sync-er Joey Fatone is hitting the dance floor once again. The season 4 runner-up of Dancing With the Stars is taking his dance knowledge to Oxygen’s Dance Your Ass Off, where he’ll appear as a guest judge on Monday night’s episode. He took some time to talk about his guest appearance and what he’s got coming up in the future.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Why did you want to be involved with Dance Your Ass Off?

JOEY FATONE: It’s an amazing show as far as getting a chance for people to lose weight and have fun with it. That’s the whole thing with it. It’s pretty cool where they do the whole Biggest Loser thing where you work, and you work, and you work. But in this show, you’re working out, but you’re also having fun. You’re learning a dance. You’re learning something that some of them have never done before. And to be able to feel free and to feel confident. It gives them great self-esteem to get out there and to go and dance. [source]

Joey talks more about his dance experience, his experience on the other side of the judging table, and a new project he has coming up as the voiceover announcer for the new Family Feud!  Dance Your Ass Off airs at 10PM Mondays on Oxygen.

I don’t know about you other Superfans, but there’s just not enough FATONE on my TV lately. I’ll be happy to see him anyway I can get him! And eagerly awaiting the release of his film, Inkubus!

From JustinTimberlake.com:

With the summer days flying by, Justin will soon host the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open on Oct. 18-24, 2010. Set at the scenic TPC Summerlin golf course in Las Vegas, the annual event will raise money for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children – a one-of-a-kind healthcare system dedicated to improving the lives of children. Come out and join the cause!

Justin, some of his A-list friends and a dexterous group of golf pros will compete in the Pro-Am and PGA tournaments. Get ready for some intense golf moments, birdies, bogeys, eagles and sandbaggers (or something like that). Check out a few of the videos from past years:

The below video from 2008 is hilarious – a must see! Justin and Ellen goof around on the golf couse, all in the spirit of a good cause.

Also stay tuned for more info on the “Justin and Friends” concert that will happen in Las Vegas that same week!!

I don’t want to want to see this movie, but……

Wowzer. No matter how high your expectation-level was for the full-length trailer to David Fincher’s The Social Network, you probably didn’t anticipate something like this. Prepare to have the choral version of Radiohead’s “Creep” stuck in your head for the foreseeable future.

As with the previous teasers, The Social Network begins with a compilation of Facebook friendly images — status updates, emoticons, pictures — all while the mournful Scala & Kolacny Brothers cover of “Creep” revs up underneath. In fact, it’s not until one minute in that The Social Network finally offers a glimpse of Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook impresario Mark Zuckerberg, draped in cold aloofness and an oversized hoodie.

What follows afterward is basically the second teaser, but with images to go with the words — so get ready for your first peeks at Justin Timberlake, Rashida Jones and newly minted Spider-Man Andrew Garfield (chug that bottle of Jack Daniels, Andrew!). It all looks positively epic and Fincher-ian — the muted browns recall Fight Club and Benjamin Button — and while the Radiohead cover might be a bit too on the nose, it certainly has my heart racing with excitement. Is it October 1 yet?

VERDICT: Sold.

I have confirmed a few fans will be attending the NY Arts Festival premiere of The Social Network Sept 24th — stay tuned to StillNSYNC for some first hand fangirling!

Yeah… I  wasn’t at first, but am now all-the-way into Justin‘s vocals on this song, a remake of Terence Trent D’ Arby’s Sign Your Name.  This song was one of my FAVORITES back in the day, so I was a little territorial, but I also love Sheryl Crow, so I’ll forgive her for remaking it. It’s very southern bluesy and smooth.

Check it out at JT4B!

Stranded on an airplane, waiting to deplane and retrieve his baggage in a 111 degree Arizona, Lance passed the time by tweeting about the heat, about the Home Run Derby and about his hair.

He got a hair cut… “no more hippie!” He says. I don’t know……..it still looks like it could be seen from China…
